The CEO Cheerleader
I am starting to better understand the concept of the CEO Cheerleader. I have seen this reference in countless places where the CEO is proclaimed to be the Cheerleader of their staff and of the company to people outside the organization.
This is my first year coaching youth softball in our rec league. I find myself coming home from practices almost hoarse after saying "Good Job", "Nice Throw","Great try", etc. a thousand times. I am trying to stay true to the 98% positive, 2% negative axiom that the league has suggested. I definitely feel like a Cheerleader in this role.
This has definitely given me better insight into Informz and how to become a better CEO Cheerleader. It starts with the people and putting them in places where they can have ownership and make real contributions. But they obviously have to be in the RIGHT place and have the right framework of procedures around them. Just as I don't want to place a player who is not strong at catching at First Base or have a Pitcher that can't throw strikes, I need to make sure that people who are in front line support are pleasant, great on the phone and helpful.
